SUDS’ first official slot of the year, “Midsummer Madness!” is a modern, musical response to Shakespeare’s classical comedy, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream." Reflective of the incomplete glimpses of a mythical and mortal world, the music mimics these disparate worlds through genre and polyphonic style.

In the heat of a midsummer’s night, young lovers enter a world between dreaming and waking, a world that can only be described as a queer fantasia. When parents are hostile, their children rebel; when love awakes from its slumber, a discovery of identity and sexuality is made anew. We promise you a moving night of magic, music, laughter, full of invention! For who would let the sublime untouched, uninterpreted!

NOTE ON DOOR TICKETS

Due to strict COVID-19 guidelines, we will no longer be selling tickets at the door. All tickets must be purchased online before the show.

SUDS COVID-SAFE POLICY:
At SUDS we want to prioritise the safety of our members and audiences, and so we have strict COVID measures in place.
- All individuals entering the Cellar must be double-vaccinated and must use the QR code to check in at the door.
- It is required that while in the space, audience members will keep masks on at all times.
- Audience numbers are kept below full capacity; social distancing should be observed whenever possible. This will be facilitated by spaced seating.
- Hand sanitiser and spare masks will be available in the space.
- As a safety precaution, SUDS will not be taking cash payments; any tickets bought at the Front of House must be done so using a card.
