The year is 1965. Y/n is just your average y/a protagonist. Caught up in beatle mania, nearing the end of a summer full of nothing, and on the precipice of an amazing transformation. You see, y/n’s father has just brought home a wondrous new gem from the bookshop - David Lynch’s masterpiece Dune. Arracket follows y/n as they go on the journey of a lifetime, transported into the world of the book through salacious fan fiction.

CONTENT WARNINGS:
- Coarse language.
- Sexually explicit language.

PRODUCTION ROLES:

- Set design: A cosy suburban bedroom in 1965. Set will work closely with the actor playing y/n to uncover the character’s interests and reflect their inner world in their surroundings.

- Costume design: Y/n is a bookish, Beatle-loving youth hanging out in their bedroom in 1965. Costume will also work closely with the actor playing y/n to build the character’s inner world. Saul is your typical sci-fi protagonist, decked out in futuristic armour that protects him from the sandy dystopian setting of Arracket.

- Lighting design: lighting design should take their lead from the setting. Dreamy 1965 suburbia, punctuated by sci-fi intrusions. Y/n’s inner world, and how it differs from the world around them, should also be considered.

- Sound design: Dreamy 1965 suburbia collides with the sand-encrusted planet of Arracket. We see the action through the eyes of a solitary, amorous 19-year old. The soundscape should reflect how personal the story being told is to y/n.

- Photographer and Graphic designer: one person can fill both of these roles, or you can interview for just one of them! The vibe is 1965 suburbia melding with the sandy dream world of a 19-year old Beatles enjoyer who writes Dune fan fiction. Photography and graphic design should feel homemade and juvenile. We would love for you to incorporate pop culture references (particularly to Dune and The Beatles).
