SUDS X POC REVUE OPEN MIC NIGHT FUNDRAISER!

  • The Cellar Theatre Sydney Australia (map)

Join us for a wonderful and exciting open mic night! This will be a low pressure evening focusing on giving the stage to people who want to share their stories in any form they’d like, be that art or just talking! We want this to be a safe culturally supportive space, and we’d like to thank POC revue for helping us! They have lined up some wonderful performances for us to go along with your fantastic art!

This event will also be a fundraiser for Deadly Connections, a local charity focusing on breaking the cycle of generational trauma through culturally centred programs. In this event, for every $1 raised SUDS will donate $1 as well, to a max of $500! Meaning if we raise $500, SUDS will pay an additional $500 making a total of $1000! Simply show us your receipt of your donation made to Deadly Connections on the date of this event, September 13th, and we will tally it up and make a donation on the behalf of SUDS.

The stage will be open to any kind of performance, however we strongly encourage BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Colour) performers to take this opportunity to perform in a culturally safe space with the wonderful POC revue!

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF COUNTRY:
SUDS acknowledges that the University of Sydney and the Cellar Theatre reside on stolen land; the land of the Gadigal people of the Eora nation. As a society that exists to tell stories, it is important to acknowledge that stories were being told on this land for thousands of years before British colonisation.
SUDS pays respect to elders past, present and emerging. Sovereignty was never ceded – Always Was, Always Will Be Aborigional Land.
