No Exit
By Jean-Paul Sartre
Translated by Stuart Gilbert
7th - 17th August, 7.30pm
The Cellar Theatre
Three people have faced their deaths and found themselves in an innocuous room, welcomed by a polite and well-dressed figure. A sofa for each, a bronze sculpture, and a door that never opens. This is Hell.
Jean-Paul Sartre’s ’No Exit’ follows three damned souls attempting to address their past lives, finding themselves locked in an eternal struggle with one another as the true nature of their punishment comes to light. Tensions rise and façades dissolve in this one act play on our struggle to find absolution in the eyes of others.
