SUDS Presents: The Murder of Roger Ackroyd

When Mrs. Ferrars is discovered dead from an apparent suicide, the tiny village of King’s Abbot is thrown into chaos. Her fiancé, Roger Ackroyd, the wealthiest man in town, suspects an arranged killing. Within hours, Ackroyd too is found dead, a clear victim of murder.

With many hiding their own secrets and motives, the police are at a loss for who to suspect. After a lack of evidence leads to fracturing relationships and high tensions, those close to Ackroyd seek the help of a retired detective who claims to be able to solve the mystery. In a house where nothing is as it appears and everyone holds their own secrets, the fear of another death becomes increasingly real. An Agatha Christie classic, a thrilling story of blackmail, greed and murder.

SUDS Presents: Chosen Ones

Set against the backdrop of pre-war Nazi Germany, and within the four walls of a paediatric clinic, “Chosen Ones” follows Walter Fischer, a doctor burdened with the duty of deeming disabled patients “unfit” for society, and in doing so condemning them to forced sterilisation and state-sanctioned murder. As Walter treats a group of children, he reckons with an inner conflict, cowardice and courage, to eventually face a choice between what is moral and what is mandated.

What’s the normal thing to do after the worst thing that ever happened to you?

Harper is a young playwright who struggles with something that she hasn’t exactly come to terms with yet. She channels this into a new script — one about a woman who was raped.

You’re Killing Me traces Harper’s journey with the people at the centre of this: the actors in her play, her best friend who doesn’t really know, and the man who ruined her life.
Rehearsals, pub trips, awkward conversations, a messy bedroom and harsh realities — weaving together scenes from Harper’s script and her life, an at times messy convergence.
