SUDS Production Callout: Off-Off Stage
SHOW DATES: 28th & 29th January 2023
The Cellar Theatre
Co-Directed/Produced/Written by Kate Wilkins & Rhayne Fountain
***
Every February at the Seymour Centre, OnStage showcases exemplary individual projects by HSC Drama students. Similarly, ARTEXPRESS puts on a series of exhibitions of exemplary artworks from HSC art students, CALLBACK enlists exemplary dance performances and compositions, and ENCORE celebrates outstanding work from HSC music students.
Off-Offstage is a presentation of performances and projects that have been 'overlooked' by the NSW Education Standards Authority and the NSW Department of Education amidst these showcase selections.
This show is a collaborative, original, comedic, parody of HSC major work showcases. (i.e., a total piss-take).

PRODUCTION ROLES
If you’re keen on production and have never worked on a show, or you’re someone who’s helped out with thousands of them but would like to help with this one - we’d love to have you!
No prior experience required! We’re just looking to get creative and silly…
Inspiration for the show elements can be found at our moodboard here: Set/Promo/Design Moodboard
Below are the prod roles we are looking to fill:
SET DESIGNER
You’ll be in charge of set design and getting it all ready for the show.
Inspo: the York Theatre at the Seymour Centre, the Concert Hall at Sydney Opera House, and Art Gallery of NSW all combined into one. Nah, jokes. We’re thinking minimal. Maybe a painted floor, a riser(?), and a curtain across the back of the stage to keep it classy/profesh.
LIGHTING/SOUND OPERATOR
If you’re interested in doing lighting or sound this job’s for you!
Lighting: drama/school showcase vibe. Don’t have the budget for something like School Spec.
Sound: Probs two handheld mics and potentially playing some sound clips.
COSTUME/PROP DESIGNER/SOURCER
To be honest at this stage we have no idea what the show’s prop and/or costume requirements are going to be as we’re making it up as we go! But if you’re keen on this role then we’d love to hear from you.
STAGE MANAGER
Good at wrangling cast members and getting people to be quiet backstage? This job’s for you! You’ll help run the show from behind the scenes, make sure everything’s organised backstage and ensure people are in the right place at the right time.
GRAPHIC DESIGNER/PHOTOGRAPHER/VIDEOGRAPHER
Love a little Adobe action? Or maybe you’re old school and scan in your art and make graphics that way. The graphic designer will create the marketing look/promotion material for the show.
Good at taking profesh looking pics? The photographer will take cast photos for promotional material and potentially come in for a rehearsal run of the show to take rehearsal pictures.
Great at filming? The videographer will set up the camera to film the show on both nights so we have a record of the performances!
These roles could be one individual doing all three things (triple threat vibes) if you’re keen or have the skills. Or if you’re keen for one or two of the roles we can split the load between people.
INTERVIEW SLOTS
Interviews are roughly 15 minutes & confirmed via email. We’ll chat about what you’re interested in doing & any ideas you have about the show.
