FBi Radio's storytelling program All the Best and the Sydney University Dramatic Society are partnering to provide an incredible opportunity for writers, sound designers and actors to be involved in producing theatre for audio!
SUDS has a new initiative – Foreign Language Plays! This will be a collection of short plays written by students in a foreign language. It’s an opportunity to embrace the linguistic diversity of student theatre in writing, directing, performing and being part of a production team in a number of foreign language pieces!
We encourage people to use this opportunity to write and experiment in languages other than English. We hope to be able to create a safe theatre space for people who grew up with different cultural backgrounds. The pieces will be small plays, with the hopes of experimentation, fun and welcoming of new members of SUDS. If you haven’t done a production with us before but want to write, we strongly encourage you to apply! We will also provide assistance and support throughout the process to ensure you feel comfortable and confident in your pieces. Still unsure? Our annual Slot 3 is an opportunity for old and new SUDS members to work together in bringing to life a showcase of new and original short plays. These plays will be performed by all our incoming members for the new year, and they are a great way for young students to get involved in creating some amazing live theatre experiences!
